Mr. Patrick Smith became the principal of Marshall Technical School and the career tech director for Marshall County Schools in 2022. Previously, Mr. Smith served as the principal of Douglas High School. Mr. Smith has over 25 years of experience as an educator, after having also served as a high school social studies and as a school counselor. Before working in education, Mr. Smith served as the Chief Deputy at the Marshall County Sheriff's Department and also wrote for a newspaper after finishing his bachelor's degree. Mr. Smith is thrilled to return to MTS as principal after having previously taught at MTS for six years and having served as the school's career tech counselor for eight years. Mr. Smith's educational background includes master's and Ed.S. degrees in secondary education and master's level certifications in school counseling instructional leadership.
